I do not use sand, and it might not be encouraged.

When should you use your dragon to be developed fully. That's 1 year and is somewhere around 19-24 inches Wash's play sand Lowe's or Home Depot. Use a pet store even sold anything! Eating in a separate container, too! It would not be swallowed while eating.

There is always a risk for the maintenance, even if they feed in a separate place.

Bearded dragons do not live in the loose sand in the wild. Bags of clay is hard and live longer than 5 years in captivity.

NEVER EVER EVER !!!!!!!! I say keep it (on paper towels or Repti-carpet was very beautiful) looks like the worst thing is, put them in Calci ARENA. So, if you decide to not use sand. Reptiles can calcium and they'll start eating spirit, and to get involved. Stick with Repti carpet, or even very short carpet can be obtained from Home Depot or something. It is very easy to clean Repti carpet. Everything we do is here is a little mini-vacuum pump and vacuum the carpet and dry it with just water and air. Hope this helps:)

The answer may be unpopular, but personal experience. Beardie I owned for 8 years (plus herps). I always sand and never had a problem with that at all.

Maybe I'm lucky, maybe the sand is used .. But these guys are desert dwellers .. Living in the desert sand. There are also sound (like audio transport in SW United States) and is very rocky .. the semi-tree-lizard, which means that often enjoy the branches or stones. However, taking a small amount of sand * is not detrimental to these children.

I desert sand, I dug. I lived in Arizona and the desert sand is an important substrate Beardie. It was recommended to me by my vet specializing on herps many years.

If you are unsure, then continue with a carpet or a newspaper. Better be safe then sorry.

Never use sand ever! No matter how big they are, you can kill at any time. They adhere to the carpet.
